I hear ya on the old school stuff... Dead simple.

As for what's missing, need three things to make it run, fuel, spark, and air. Air shouldn't be the issue... gotta be one of the other two.

Thanks for the support guys your all a big help in more ways than you may think. I've got a 47 ford 1/2 Ton that I have been driving since this goat broke down on me, and its been a great reliable help.

I do have to say that my old Ram has done alot of work and has been a reliable truck to me, so it just needs a little help, and we will try and do that.

As I mentioned I'm not savy on this electrical stuff, and I really do appreciate you all trying to help me out on this.

".....The wire wizard told me that if it wasn't the PCM, it would be the Relector."

I used to think I knew a little about electrical (fooled several emplyers for quite some time...) but I do not know what a Relector is. Any idea what he was referring to?

I;m with HeyYou. Crank on it and then pull a plug ans see if it is wet from gas. Check plug wires to see if you are getting spark from coil.

Question

Okay guys I guess a friend of mine who is a great Mechanic, building Performance Engines, for well over 50 years gave me the name "Relector" What he was refering to was the Plate that the Crank Positioning Sensor gets its information from. There most likely is another name for it but I have no idea of the proper name.

Apparently its on the Flywheel or Torque Convetor.

Also the Refurbished PCM I just got yesterday and installed it on my truck came from

"Auto Computer Exchange" www.autocomputerexchange.net

I was told some of you on here would have an input on this company.

Its raining here today so I won't have a chance to get my Truck home and I don't have a garage that will accomodate it.

Auto computer exchange has a horrid reputation........ shipping dead PCM's more often than not.

I think thats "reluctor". Truck is gonna have two, one for the crank sensor, one for the cam sensor. They rarely fail, the sensor that reads them is generally the culprit.

Need to find out what you are missing. You can get a spark checker from the parts store, or, just use a spare spark plug..... to check for spark. Pick up a noid light to test for injector pulse, and also a gauge to verify you have good fuel pressure. I think it should be around 39 on your truck. See what's missing, and let us know.

Hey You

I was told by another member that you would have some input on this PCM rebuilder, and that it wasn't good. Wish I had know this prior to me ordering it. Tell me is there any recourse on returning it, as I paid for it through Pay Pal.

Reason I ask is that when It was plugged in there was no difference than with the old one that was on my Truck. So in short it wasn't the PCM after all presuming this is a good one, which now I am in doubt.

Last night I mentioned there was a guy who works on these Trucks and teaches this electrical tech, and I've know him for quite a few years. He is going to come to my home and with his updated Scanner will give a read out, he claims these years are simple to work on, its just finding the culprit. But he is going to start from scratch and said he will get it going.

It has stopped raining here at the moment so maybe I will get it towed here and then give him a call.

Count on it when it is running I will post the problem and what was done to correct it. Its the least I can do after all the help I have received from all of you here on the Forum. Maybe my problem and resolve will help some one else who has a similar issue.

Sure appreciate all the advice you guy have given, your a great bunch. until i get this resolved I will be driving my old 47 Pickup.

From what I've read on DF, the customer service is pretty good as in not the problem. It's just the ratio of sending out PCM's that dont work right is where the problem lies.
