Default Anyone know what this is?

Can someone tell me what this is? It was stuck to the magnet at the bottom of the differential. The gears still spin freely and look good... I just wanna make sure it's nothing major.

The gears seem to look good though, no missing teeth or anything.

That looks like the right size for speed sensor on top of the diff. A shim in the housing for it, or part of the sensor itself maybe ?

It is limited slip and the piece was inside the differential when I opened up the cover.

As far as I know... Both of the wheels turn when I spin the driveshaft.

the clutch retainer clips in the LSD like to break and fall into the diff, but that doesn't look like them at all. i don't recognize it as any component of the lsd.

i'm going with zman, might be a remnant piece of the ABS/speed sensor.

Its certainly not a piece of gear, ring, pinion, bearing, shaft, etc.

i'd just remove it and not worry about it.

edit. added this pic of the rear abs sensor in the top of the diff.

Awesome glad to hear some positive news... In that case, I think I'm gonna go ahead and seal it up later tonight with some rtv. Thanks for the help.

If it is a piece off the speed sensor, will my speedo be off then? I know it will be with the bigger gears, but I have a programmer to fix that.
