Default Just got 01 Ram Sport

hey guys ive traded up my dakota for a 2001 dodge ram 1500 offroad editon sport 4wd 5.9l.

did a straight up trade for my 1998 v6 5sp dakota with 113k for a 2001 ram v8 with 167k. both have new trannys

here is some problems ive noticed.
-my brakes are stiff before starting up and then they go back to normal.
-i have lots of squeaking on the truck, which leads me to think suspension.
-ive also got about 3 inches play in the wheel, pitman arm? steers pretty straight
-oil in tb, plenum?
-got rust under doors on both sides any easy way to fix, liquid steel?
-has infinity sound, but seems horrible compared to my dakota's radio which was the stock system.

pros of this truck.
-fast compared to my v6 dakota
-loves gas!
-gf loves all the space in the truck, she can actually sit in the middle
-nice black interior, only small crack in dash
-2in level kit on front
-sitting on centerline 16.5s on 33s
-has mean stance, tow mirrors are coming in a couple of days
-cherry bomb exhaust, nice deep growl
-after having this for a day i will never go back to mid size!
-rides like a cadillac compared to my kota
-all power options and key fob

heres pics of the rig!

Very nice. I had a dakota for a few years. The ram is quite a difference.

sweet looking rig! now you gotta change you vehicle info ;D If you mean oil under the TB in the IM then yes plenum..play in the steering wheel = worn gear or steering or suspension components..BB might have issues (vac)

Nice truck indeed!

One more pro: since it's an Off Road Edition, you have 4.10 gears

If the squeaking is coming from the front, I'd look at the ball joints. I had a terrible squeak, and a video posted in one of my old threads, squeak was bad ball joints.

sweet and clean looking. i love the four doors, there is a good thread about checking the keg with vacuum for a leak, might just need a pcv valve. i have both a 1500 and a dak, the kids dont want to ride in the dak, try to keep the rpms under 2k and it will get okay milage for a full size
