Shudder
"A lockup converter will have a clutch disc inside of it (much like a manual transmission) which, when the torque converter is "flooded" with tranny fluid, will lock up (same as taking your foot of the manual trans clutch pedal.) To flood the torque converter, fluid needs to get into the converter at a much higher rate. To do so, a Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid inside the valve body of the trans opens a plunger which creates an additional fluid path that "floods" the torque converter with additional tranny fluid...locking up the clutch mechanism inside the torque converter".
Can anyone tell me exactly what "path" this is and can it be restricted enough to cause the shudder issue..and/or is this what TC shudder is/and caused by? Thanks

I'm going to be honest I have no clue; I'm to the point; i'm going to replace my mounts and then call it done; I'm not dropping any more time money or energy into this truck unless some finds the absolute fix/problem for the off idle shudder.
See you around pat.
Let me know if you make any progress.

Hope she is ok!

Anything like that happening?
No it's just the oppsite. Doesn't happen grade/slope/hills and does on flat ground. The reason being when I hit a hill I'm getting more line pressure and an increased rpm. The shudder begins at 40mph and the flare will happen, lets say I'm at 42mph and take my foot off the accel ped, then when I hit the ped again it flares (decrease in rpm)..as long as the rmp is above approx 1400 it won't shudder at the 40-50mph range...I did adjust the TV cable and altered the shift points and increased line pressure but didn't like the harsh kick/high revs..not trying to burn up the trans/converter..
IDK when I did mine; i've already seen increased power and 2.4+ MPG increase.
Which is alot.
but what your describing as far as RPM drop sounds normal; being you will see a small increase in intial vacume when you open the throttle; then a decrease untill it builds back up?
Also not to go off topic we got the wife a New Hundai.. (she works at the dealer so.. no american for her i guess LOL)

In a Ford I would say no.. but on this kegger mod it seems if you look around most people say it's normal being it's in direct correlation of vacuum drop (which is normal)
I guess it all depends how much it's dropping.
