Well, I don't shop for pansy parts (1/2 ton stuff) so here's what's on my shopping list for gears.

I have a 4.56+ 30 spline detroit, so I will only need one thick cut gear set.

Total there is $620. I would think that 44 parts should be even cheaper, and 9 1/4's I don't know about.

 

Don't know about buying parts seperate, but I just got quotes from a few local shops.
Regear to 4:10's with new bearings and seal and carrier for the front.
OTD: $1200

 

for both axles? that's pretty cheap.
