46RE to NV4500 transmission swap on 1996 Ram 1500

Here is a picture of the two screws on the back of the instrument cluster that must be removed to remove the PRNDL selector.
Remove the screws in the red circles and pull the unit back out. It will come out easily. Then remove the spring, cable, and the red plastic thingy. Cut a piece of cardstock paper to match it, paint it semi-gloss black, and put it back in the cluster. Then it looks factory.

ROFL lol... No not yet... Haha... Taking so long? Been tired, had other customers come to my shop, was sick day before yesterday, finally back at work today... Then had to take (almost) the whole manual transmission to fix the 3-4 synchro which popped out when I swapped inputs... Man-trans was good about it, air mailed me the new springs and dogs and one bearing in case I needed it, then walked me through it on the phone, also they are paying for the air-hammer I had to buy. So got that done on Monday. So it's getting done!

Double nut it. Don't use the updated mainshaft: it doesn't work. I have talked to shop after shop that said they ALWAYS had the updated mainshaft come back because it STILL walked the gear off. So Man-Trans uses 2 locknuts. The one closest to the fifth gear has a set screw in it as well. They have four notches in the locknuts, so take a air chisel and hammer them in there as TIGHT as you can get it, one at a time. Once they are both on there, apply GREEN penetrating threadlocker. That is the most permanent fix for this issue. No way it's gonna come off lol!!
