Default Thinking about hollowing out cat

Just as the title says. What is the best and most simple way to go about this? I do not have emissions up here where I am so I don't care about that. I'm thinking I'm going to cut the side of the cat, knock it out and then weld the side back together.

DON'T gut it, cut it out completely! Then just weld or clamp in a length of pipe necessary. I did

don't do it. i tried it and it sounds like $hit.
instead, as said, either cut it out and weld in pipe, or replace the whole cat pipe with the Jeggs offroad Y-pipe.

sell your old cat for $75, free shipping.
