Default '01 1500 high beam light always on

My high beam light is on whenever I turn my lights on. Even if there only on the driving light setting, the high beam light is on. Also, my low beams seem very dim, about as bright as the day time running lights. I still have the stock lights (tried to buff the lenses with no success). Why is that light always on?
The light has been like that since I bought the truck and never put much thought into it until this morning. I know the fog lights wont tun on if the high beams are on but, if the high beam light is on constantly, could that be why my fog lights don't work? I've traced all the wires for them and everything seems fine, grounds are fine.
Any help with either of those two questions is greatly appreciated.

Is it the high beam dash indicator that is on or are your high beams on as well? Probably the switch is bad if you can't get your high beams to turn off.

It's just the indicator. I can turn the highs on and off. I replaced the switch when trying to fix the fog lights and that hasn't solved the problem for either.

What about the turn signal switch? also try moving the tilt steering up and down. thats a common place for short circuits

Neither of those effect it.

I was actually just reading up on that module. I'll try replacing that next. Like I said, the lights are very dim... that might have something to do with it. Thanks for the tip.

Also, I was wrong at first. the high beam indicator light only comes on when the lights are on. When off and switched to the DRL, the light doesn't come on. Only when the switch is on, then it is on for both low and high beams.

Thanks for the tip h3lzn1p3r, unplugged the module and it fixed all my light problems. The high beam indicator finally turned off, the fog lights finally came on. So, that's one more new part to add to the list of many.

I was thinking the same thing. Just cap the wire and be rid of that module. Plus, without it, the fog lights work with the high beams on.
