I must be confused, I thought I read that it was simply the tranny quit shifting out of OD, now it's stalling?

You should take it to a tyranny shop&have them tell you what's wrong with it&if you can fix it yourself do if not then you have to figure if its worth selling or fixing.I know it sucks but that's the things about vehicles. You put money into em&then something else happens. In my gbody I had a local speed shop build me a 6000.00 long block I put all my bolt ons on&dropd it in&less than maybe 50 miles later the tranny went out now its sitting in my shop all took apart.Anyways what my point is think if its worth it.Inless your buying something brand new eventually your gonna have to put some cash into it.But if you can't affford to fix it then yup sell&buy something else.Sorry for your bad luck.Hope all works out.

I had just about the same problem in jeep (same trans) and I too went through the hassle of dropping valve body and replacing the od/tcc solenoids and governor pressure solenoid to no avail. Turns out the transmission control module had gone bad. Since these trucks are like the later jeeps and it's all in the PCM now maybe that could be the problem? Don't know if they have as high a failure rate as the 93-95 grand Cherokees with the separate tcm do but maybe.

The only thing thats electronically controlled on an RH is OD. And yes mantis, my OD off didnt work either, but this just happened to me on sunday. Idk what to do or how to fix it. Ive tried everything i can think of to get the torque converter unlocked. This happens in all moving gears. Park and nuetral are unaffected.

My bad, didn't know ya had a 94 but even still the od and tcc like you said are electronically controlled. So could be an electronic problem. That's the only I know that would keep the converter locked.

I have a '95, that particular year where its a crap shoot what you have lol regardless, idk what i can do. Cuz theoretically, unplugging the solenoid, should unlock overdrive right? But it doesnt. Its still locked in.

Mine wouldn't unlock when unplugged. Why I don't know but it wouldn't, I fought it for months until I figured it out. I mean if you got a you pull it I'd be a cheap try. If it don't work, take it back.

Well, i dont think we have a separate TCM, but maybe ill try to unplug and plug the PCM and see if thatll work. If you had the same issues, then maybe ill have the same solution lol

sorry lol been on my phone. i USED to have everything in my sig...idk what happened. it got deleted somehow i guess(idk, i didnt touch it) lol

regardless, i'm still trying to figure out my problem. its hard to tell when its something like this. could be the torque converter, could be an electrical issue...and there's no real way to tell i dont think. not without dropping it all and physically looking. and its all hard to do when you dont have a shop with a lift, and its 20 degrees outside in the driveway lol
