Default OD solenoid.

Well yall, im finally tackling my od solenoid. Lol but i got a question about it. For some reason i wasnt aware that i needed to drop the valve body to do it, i know its only 6 bolts, but i was looking at my new one and the wires for it are actually clipped in the solenoid. Lol ive already got the new one apart without breaking it, so do you think i could just swap solenoids and use the old wire and plug receptical where its at? I cant see a reason why not, but would like opinions lol

VB does not need to come off to change solenoid.

How so? Just keep the old wiring and use the new solenoid?

If you look closely enough, you will see a plate you can remove to gain access to the screw on the underside of the main harness plug. Just beware that there is a spring behind that plate you dont want to lose. To reinstall the plate after replacing solenoids, use a putty knife to hold the spring in, push the plate against it and slide the putty knife out. Then install one of the bolts through the plate to hold it.

Yes, unless the wiring is bad...

As far as I know, the main harness is part of the TCC/OD solenoid unit. And you can't just swap the harness. The TCC/OD unit is part of the main harness unlike the Gov solenoid.

You can swap the solenoids and keep the same harness lol its just a plug and you have to be careful not to break the keeper tab on the new one lol however, that didnt solve my overdrive off not working. :/ idk what to do about that now.

If that is so, then why does a new TCC/OD solenoid unit come with the harness attached? I think you are dealing with the Gov sensor and solenoid, not this. Name: getimagephp-5.jpg

Watch out for the O Rings on the 8 Pin Connector, apparently they like to vanish...
