needs more power desperately
ok ok guys... Enough skepticism. Yes that is low. I did not use stainless steel pipe, i used High quality aluminized pipes with stainless steel mufflers (DynomaxVT). Also I used pre-bent pipes that were designed for Dodge dual exhaust. They are pretty cheap. Plus I can get other pipe for like $2.30/ft. The prebents are like $25/ea., and I did all the installation myself. I also used some stainless steel flex pipe to make the bend to the manifolds, which is working very well.
Alright, so i am no expert, but this is buggin me. Summit Racing sells a spectre CAI kit for 140 bucks.K&N is too damn expensive. I also got my exhaust system done by a shop for 140(NOT STAINLESS) for a y pipe and dual glasspacks, then to convert to true duals, i did the rest for about 40 bucks in piping and clamps.
Im not sure how he swung it for $150, but for what its worth, I had true duals run in mine for $225. Thats not that much more than what he said he did it for. Totally no frills. No x-over, no tips.. Just pipes and cheap economy mufflers. Strait out the back, below the bumper. No side pipes.
I do, when I feel like being obnoxious and going fast (well, that's a relative term). I have no internal mods except friction reducing ones, letting the engine run more efficiently in it's stock form. I like my stock airbox though.
I occasionally do, on the two lane when some putz decides that my passing is his excuse for accelerating, and there's another vehicle close behind closing the gap I could otherwise brake to fall back into. The ole truck doesn't mind winding out second gear at all.
3rd is my best passing gear. I do not spin my motor up over 4k all the time, but I do when I have to get around someone as quickly as I can. I hate the drivers that decide to speed up as I am passing them as well. Makes no sense. I am sure though for some it is something they do without thinking about it.
