2500 Leveling Kit Questions
Hey guys, I'm new here as you all can see, but this site seems pretty cool with people who actually now their stuff.
So anyways I have a 2001 2500 4X4 5.9 Magnum.
I want to put a leveling it on the front but I have the usual questions.
On Ebay there are lots of different choices, 2 inch, 2.5 inch, and 3 inch. What one is the best size?
Also is there any preferred manufacturer of these? I did some searching and most recogmend the steel ones.
And last, Ive read about installing these and it doesn't seem to bad, but the truck has been driven in Wisconsin for ten years, so it has some rust on the frame. I'm concerned about what bolts I might break trying to put it on, and just how much stuff I can wreck if that happens.
Any other tips for putting it on etc would be very helpful!

Hell Bent Steel makes good parts.
As for size, measure the height difference between front and rear, and choose your spacer accordingly. Keep the front just a bit lower than the rear...... (half inch...)
All you really need to do is drop the shocks, and sway-bar links, and then be able to jack the truck up high enough to unload the springs. On a 3/4 ton, gonna need a serious jack for that kind of behavior.

Allright Hell Bent Steel was what I was swaying towards as well.
I have two 20 ton bottle jacks with a 10 inch stroke that I use for tractors. Those should probably do the trick, and then put my floor jac on the pumpin and let it down some.
Any other tips or things I should now before buying would be appreciated.

OP, if you use bottle jacks, make sure the truck is secure and can't slip off while tugging on the springs and such.

When I need to drop the front diff I jack up the truck using the diff then block up the frame behind the lower control-arms, take the tires off, then drop the diff. Me to make my job ezer I would at least undo the trac-bar from one end, I also like to drop a chain through the spring to secure loosely it just in case.
