Yep. Sure would. The difference is the governor. ON the RH versions, it is mechanical, with flyweights, and the whole nine yards. On the RE, there is a solenoid, and sensor, and it's all controlled by the PCM.

On some of the older transmissions..... apparently they didn't do the locking converter thing. So, no Torque Converter Clutch. TCC locks the converter, so there is no slip, it makes for a direct mechanical connection from the engine to the trans. (good for better gas mileage.) Not sure why they didn't put a locking converter in there........

Default Trans identification

I’m dealing with a 2001 ram 1500 4x4 v8 automatic transmission. I’m almost positive I have a 46re but not sure since it is 4 wheel drive. Per your list here 4x4 models 1500-2500 year 96-99 have a 46re. Would I be correct thinking they would be the same?

I have this transmission with a part number pk521184312642 3564. Can you tell me what transmission this is? I'm trying to replace a 46rh with this one if it will work. And or what will it take to get it to work..?.
