360 vs V10???
Does yours depend on driving conditions, or is it just steady regardless of conditions? Because the most I've gotten was 13.5 and that was driving like a granny.
Wow I guess I never would have thought the V10 would get that close to me in MPG, I have never broken 13 mpg and it doesn't seem to chance much no matter how much hwy vs city I do. It is also good to know the tranny was better, I was wondering about that. I have had problems with my tranny and that is one thing that has me looking, either I need to rebuild or dump it.
When it had the death flash it was dismal, 6-9 overall. Didn't matter how I drove it, it just ran like crap. With the 93 tune it's like the man said, "it's a ball of giggles to drive". That 13.7 was a highway run up into maine at 65 with the cruise set. Coming back down along the coast on rt1 I still scored 10-11. I tend to go easy on her, but today in the heavy snow coming down I must have put 500 miles on her taking the girlfriend to work 15 miles away.
I had a 01 Dakota quadcab 4x4 with the 5.9 and even though it was a blast to drive. The power difference between the 5.9 and the 8.0 is significant. The V10 makes a ton of torque right off idle and keeps making it right up the band. I would recommend getting the v10 over the v8 every time. You work it less to get the same work out of a 2500.

Just the Ford version. Only problem with the Dodge V10 is that there is no aftermarket for them and the OEM parts are kinda hard to come by.
Definitely not junk. I think they may have gotten a bad rap from being gelded by Dodge with the death flash. In fact the V10 still makes more torque than the current Hemi. That says a lot for these motors.
I have heard of others getting about the same.
^^ Well duh it matters how heavy your foot is lol.
Gotta agree with jimmy, the v10's are a better choice for most. The small aftermarket isn't such a huge deal since the 488 cubes push 450 ft-lbs and 300hp stock. That's plenty for a big heavy truck. I still want to drive a v10 stick one day.
