Default 360 vs V10???

I have an opportunity to possible get a hold of a nice 1998 Ram 2500 V10 and currently have a 360 V8. Right now I feel like my truck gets terrible mileage and I do haul wood from time to time so a 3/4 would be nice. What are the pros and cons of possibly trading up to a V10???

Its a hell of a motor.. Not alot in the aftermarket for it though.. It will do what you want and wont complain like the v8... Gas mileage will be about the same or a little less than the v8

15 is the average MPG for a tuned-up V10. More torque, more HP. All I can say. Just the 8 cyl with 2 more tacked on.

15 mpg's out of a v10? Must be an unloaded 5spd 2wd reg cab steady at 55 on the freeway.

I have never heard of a v10 getting that kind of fuel economy.

From what I've read (mostly on this forum), 9-12 mpg seems to be the norm, depending on the truck's configuration, tire size, ect.

That's what dad's got, with the worst possible combo for mpg's (qc/lb 4x4 auto v10).

Ball of giggles to drive though.

Yup, that sounds about right. I did a best of 13.7 but 9-12 is about right for mine.
