Default OverDrive

Ok the last few days I have been having all kinds of problems. First off this truck hasn't seen snow its hole life. Till i moved back from Texas.

While driving in the down poor from last night the overdrive off light came on.
I sure as hell didnt turn it off. So any ideas?

Trans was too cold maybe. But usually it turns off without setting the light.

Generally happens right before the trans temp light comes on. have you gotten rid of the check valve yet?

When you get rid of the check valve it keeps crap from clogging the line, which causes your trans to run hot as it does not have a cooler any more at that point.

It's not a kit, you have to get rid of it yourself.

Or pay a buddy in beer.

I just used a piece of trans hose, and couple hose clamps.... others have pulled the line, drilled out the little ball, cleaned the line out, and reinstalled it. Still others have bought the fittings, and made a new line, without the check valve. Couple threads on it in the faq section.

Consult the FAQ/DIY section's check valve delete DIY for photos. That's your best bet. Well, that and to stop driving the thing until you find out why you've got not cooling flow.
