definitely run what the truck was designed for. switching the coolant is a good way to ruin water pumps and your entire coolant system for that matter. im not saying it'll be ruined in a week or a month, but it will break it down faster.

def not me or the neighbor, as soon as I saw the leak I started on it. I'm not one to leave fluids laying around.
I got the tranny off and found the bad freeze plug. It has a hole rusted through almost big enuff to put my pinky in. I am having a heck of a time getting it out, any suggestions?
I have notified my local police dept about the recent dog deaths. I know to some its just a dog but that was my partner. Told the wife that while shes at work and kids are at school, thats who hung out with me ( I work 3rds)

It isn't "just" a dog. I will NEVER feel that way about either of my girls. Anyone messes with them, better be wearing a bullet proof vest. (and not the cheapy ones they are making in columbia, for kids...)

Stick a long screwdriver in the hole, and just pry it out. Or, drive it IN on one edge, grab it with some vice grips, and yank it out.

Got it all back together no leaks (used the green stuff by the way) Seems to be good to go, even took the wife out in it for a test drive. I may buy one of these myself. I'm gonna have to replace the transmission mount the rectangular black rubber one it is split.
