Headlight lenses and fog lamps
I need a lighting upgrade. My headlamp lenses are opaque (not just surface oxidized that can be sanded/polished) and my truck ('97 5.2L 4WD 5Sp LWB) never had factory fog lamps.
Can anyone recommend a good source for replacing the headlight lenses? What's your experience been on that?...(source, price, and installation issues).
Can you still get a factory fog lamp kit for a '97? I'd like to put in a stock system (don't want the aftermarket look). Has anyone done that? Installed your own factory fogs?

So, if I order the fog lights and want to put them on a truck that never had them, can someone tell me about installation? Is there any pre-wiring in the truck or do I have to do all that from scratch? What does the factory switch in the cab look like and where does it go? Where to get it?
Thanks for help!

The factory fog light switch is integral in the main headlight switch. You pull it out. (that's what she said)
My headlights were "opaque" also. Probably the worst I've ever seen. I looked into replacements. $70 and up each.
I was at the local auto store one day and was telling the salesman about my headlight issue. I thought for sure he was going to try to sell me the 3M lense restoration kit. Instead, he said that he had used the Blue Coral liquid product on his lights and had great results.
I bit. $8.00 later, I was outside with my cordless drill and a used dense sponge attachment and the Blue Coral. 10 minutes later I was done and the lenses that were so yellow that you almost couldnt see with them looked factory. Give the BC product a try before you spend $$$ on new lenses.
If you absolutely have to replace them try http://lkq.com/
