hey guys i have an idea to rebuild a truck as of now i have a 94 dodge ram 1500 2wd , i want a 4wd truck and i want to take my 5.9L 360 engine and put it into another truck but as of now i cant find a truck without an engine let alone one that would work for my needs any ideas on how to find one or what all ima need to do?
And it takes more than 2 minutes to get a response.
Whay would you want to spend that much to rebuild something that old? Not a good plan unless there is soemthing really special about the truck....
Check around town for one with blown engine or JY....Craigslist.
i dont know what you mean i dont care what year it is (94-01) anyway,, i just want a 4x4 truck(dodge) that i can use my engine in my dad helped me rebild the engine and the rest of the truck is fine expt its 2wd and horribley rhino lined and i just need a good truck and a transmission
thank you for the junkyar idea but i aint got enuff money
junk yards will sell you one fo 500 tops any where else 1000 so if you cant afford either save up becaue it will be point less putting a rebuilt motor in a rust bucket truck that is in your price range
If you cant afford a junk yark unit then you may just want to drop this whole idea.. Nothing is going to be cheap.. You will need a few things.. A truck of the same year but in a 4x4 version.. You will also need the transmission and transfer case for the 4x4 truck.. You arent looking at being able to just drop parts in and go.. Its going to cost you money and time..
If you can find one with a blown motor, that's the same displacement, the engine is a direct drop-in. Year doesn't matter quite as much, just use all the sensors and such off the one that is in the 4x4....
