Im debating having a head job done on my 5.9. What have you guys paid to have this done? I cant call a machine shop untill monday. I can get new rebuilt clearwater heads for 800. Thanks
Oh, you should really give a little more thought for thread title. I can only imagine where this will soon be going!
Don't know the cost, but the real question is why do you thing you need this done? Have you chefcked your plenum? Has your cat been clogged? The reason I ask is this can lead to a cracked head, rendering head job useless.
You don't want rebuilt heads. Clearwater also has NEW heads, that are better castings (less prone to cracking in the valve seats) for about he same money. (possibly less) No point spending money putting something on unless it's an upgrade.

+1 why pay that kind of money for some one elses scraps
Just go down to the inner city with a bag of baking soda.. You will get whatever you want for free.... serious note though just buy the clearwater like previously stated.. Better than stock
