4wd ball joints from a 3rd gen ram are commonly substituted due to avalability at the time they are the same

3rd gen is IFS on the 4x4's in any event, are they not?

basicaly the same setup as the 2wd just with tortion bars and different knuckles

Here's the low down... Parts manual shows Moog #K7271 for the lower and that is what was put in.. For the upper it shows Moog #K7206T, the mechanic used Moog #K3134T instead which the manual says is for a 4wd.

Considering that there are very few differences in the front suspension between 2 and 4 wheel drive on the third-gens..... I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that the ONLY difference between the two joints is, the 4x4 unit is a bit beefier.... never a bad thing.

Oh. Well here's this, check your top control arm, if you have 3 holes were there used to be rivets, then I'd worry.
