trans line check valve delete
The trouble with the check valve is, it gets clogged up, restricts flow, trans overheats, and eats itself..... then you get a big fat bill for a rebuild......
Take it off, drill out the check ball, blow it out nice and clean, reinstall. Quick, relatively painless, and easy.

I just recently did this mod, but i also added sonnax manual and pressure regulator valves to the valve body. The check valve delete is easy, but the valve body mods are not for the faint of heart. The manual and pressure regulator valves allow the converter to charge in park (and therefore i can now check my trans fluid level in park) and also serve as a check valve to prevent drain back. Another way to solve the drain back issue is to install an external spin-on filter in the line where the check valve was. summit has a kit for this.
The TQ drains on mine since removing the check valve. I just shift from park to neutral, let it sit for about 30 seconds, shift to drive or reverse and go. Not a big deal. I only do this when the trucks been sitting for a few hours or more.
I did the delete when I was doing a bunch of other motor work and had plenty of room to work. Then I bought a external filter body on ebay and mounted it on the passenger side fenderwell, it uses a filter that also works on the motor, I will change this filter now and forget the tranny pan filter till maybe 40,000 miles down the road or more.
