So, I've decided my truck REALLY needs to be leveled. I love my truck, but don't wanna get a 4wd. Why? Because I like trying to prove to my 4wd Chevy/GMC driving friends that my 2wd Dodge CAN BE as good as a 4wd Chevy/GMC any day. So, I looked at some spacers like these:
Which go over the top of the coil once suspension is taken apart and the spring compressed right? Takes some work, not tons, but not a little either. Then I found these at AutoZone. They are about $15 cheaper than the DayStar ones, and you ONLY need to take off your wheel and get some soapy water to put these in: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=828156_0_0_

They are split in the middle, and you thread them in around the coil like a screw kinda. These are better than the metal ones you can buy, because these don't create pressure points and break springs, and these provide better cushioning and sway prevention. The metal ones ARE better. They are designed so the spring sits in them nicely, just like the stock spring pocket. The "soft" material spacers will crush down over time, they also degrade, and eventually disintegrate. Find some good metal spacers.....

 

I once found some metal 2wd coil spacers, but I can't seem to find them.

 

Buy the daystars and be happy or buy lifts springs. Don't cheap out with autozone spacers or eBay metal ones. On a 4x4 I would say metal spacers all the way, but on a 2wd get the daystars or springs. Coming from a guy with a lifted 2wd.

 

How do the daystars go in? Take apart suspension parts, compress spring and put it on the top of the spring, then decompress?

Seems like these would break your springs eventually.

 

What are lifts springs? Like 4wd springs on a 2wd? Do they just go right in?

 

There just longer springs, can't use the 4x4 springs on a 2wd as they would be way longer. eBay has some lift springs and I think top gun custumz has a set.
