Is there any other options before I dish out more cash on another trial n error.. Good thing I installed that drain plug
Maybe the wiring terminal going to the tranny.. Remember it's 4wd wiring going to a 2wd tranny, maybe that's an issue.. Don't know if it makes a difference. Going to be a pain getting wiring diagrams..

Ok hope that's it, good thing I installed that drain plug.. Time to dish out more cash on trial n error..

Can a possible cause be different wiring to the transmission? As its a 2wd tranny in a 4wd harness/truck

No differences in wiring between two, and four wheel drive trans.

I suppose, the test would be plugging a scanner into it, and see what the PCM thinks trans temp is. It could possibly be a short in the wiring, I don't think a bad connection would do it though.... Check the connector at the trans, had one member here were most of the wires at the connector were showing copper, and he was getting some strange symptoms.

You want the pressure sensor, not the solenoid. (either that, or replace both at the same time.) Temp sensor is in the pressure sensor.

Thanks for the correction.. You saved me time and cash.. I asked them and they said they had a gov sens n solenoid repair kit.. 160, after that price, my cheap polish blood kicked in.. So I went to the wreckers and got the solenoid n sens for 10 bux.. Half way done. Will let yea know if that was it.. I hope.

Go to the FAQ/DIY section and download the service manual. Trans section is very good and detailed troubleshooting. The scanner that HeyYou mentioned is an excellent idea, aslo gauges on test ports is another test that will telll you exactly what is going on.

Check the connectors at the PCM, see if things are dirty, pulled out, etc. I suspect a shot somewhere if changing the sensor didn't make a difference.
