Default Help!! No start 98 dodge ram 1500 5.9l

So I was driving home from work the other day went to give it a good bit of gas and it felt like it bogged down, let off the gas and then got on it again and it bogged down then died. I recently changed the distributor cap and rotor to a brass summit racing cap which for some reason the driver side of the cap will not stay flush against the distributor. Now the engine will turn over but not crank. I replaced the ignition coil, camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, and distributor. Can anyone help? Thanks yall i'm dreading its the pcm. Also no codes are showing up and my programmer is communicating with my computer so not sure if its that. Also the fuel pump is kicking in for a couple seconds( I can hear it kick in and smell it on the plugs). Lastly I checked for spark yesterday before I did the ignition coil, distributor, cps, and ckps and got nothing. I haven't gotten to recheck for spark because of school and work however it still will not crank. Thanks again!

Are you getting spark at plugs?

When I tried to crank it yesterday before I replaced the distributor, ignition coil, crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor I took the spark plug out and placed it on the intake couldnt get even a little spark from the plug. Thanks for the reply! Also I borrowed a multimeter and tured the key to the on position not trying to turn it over checked the wire leading to the ignition coil on the bottom and set the meter to 20 volts and got nothing! Could this mean a bad pcm or ecu.

Coil will have only have power for a few seconds if the engine isn't turning. Best way to test is have a friend help you. (unless you can move REALLY fast.....)

Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you first turn the key on?

Thanks for the response. Yea i can hear the pump kickin in for a couple seconds then shutting off also the plugs smelled like fuel so I figure they're gettin plenty. I'll have my roommate help me tonight with testing the ignition coil. Any other ideas. The timing chain shouldn't have come off I couldnt hear it slapping or anything before.

Plugs are wet? Might be flooding out......

If the pump kicks on, then asd relay is doing its job. You probably do have power at the coil.... what plugs ya got in there??

Can't remember exactly I changed them not too long ago( I've only had the truck for about a year so maybe 10,000 miles on the plugs) and it's probably flooding out cause we were thinking it could be the fuel pump so tried crankin it for way too long. Also after I did the distributor I heard even like a fraction of an inch of that thing bein off could really mess up your timing but I should still get spark right? I figure it would at least crank and just run rough.

Stomp the go-pedal to the floor, hold it there, and crank the engine. (clear-flood mode. significantly reduces fuel flow) Hit it with a bit of ether (starting fluid) as well. See if it fires.

Will do thanks for the suggestion! Would that be causing no spark to the plugs though?

If the plugs are wet, they won't spark very well..... If you aren't getting spark from the plugs, are you getting spark from the coil?
