Default 97 ram 1500 4x4 5.9

Just replaced tranny with a fresh rebuilt tranny everything works fine except the overdrive. The button on the dash stays lit all the time when the truck is running, I've pushed the button several times but no luck it still stays lit. I need some help figuring out what causes this problem sometimes when it sits for a while it will be off then when I drive it will turn back on. Any information will help thanks.

Internal. Can't be that easy.

Know anyone with a scan tool? Have a look at what the PCM thinks the trans temp is, and if someone is pushing the button for O/D off. Might be just a bad wire somewhere too.....

PCM will disable O/D if it sees trans temp too high, or, the button being pushed. If the O/D Off lite comes on right away, and stays on.... gotta be one of those two issues.

Call him and tell him what it is doing and see when you can take it back. I would not attempt anything before doing that.....other than checking fluid level in neutral.
