Quote: You only have a one inch hole there for the exhaust to escape thru. The cat is clogged.
Alright now to the next question.
Cheaper to get a test pipe installed or another cat?

Do you have emission testing where you live? If so, gotta get a new cat.

Personally, I prefer to have a cat on whether I am required to do so or not. Chealer would be to knock it out. If you replace the cat, you can sell the one you take off to help cover part of the cost.

I see you're in Va? Unless you're in a Northern County or City you don't have to pass emisssions, and while the Feds say you have to have a cat, who listens to them anyway?

Cheapest way is to cut the cat out completely, sell it to sellyourcatsdirect.com, they go for about $75. And run straight pipe.

Or you could get a replacement cat.

Up to you really.

I just found an old cat that I had taken off last year the other day after unpacking more in garage (after the move from hell...) and sent an e-mail with pics to get a quote. It won't pay for a replacement cat, but maybe half of it!

Regardless of what you choose, you really need to fix the plenum. Read the stickied plenum thread at the top of the page.
