Thanks guy's. I've looked into removing the vb and I'm a little iffy. If I don't have too, then great. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know too terribly much on auto's. At least once I buy a used tranny, it'll be a lot easier to do the work seeing how as it wont be under the truck.
Oh, how the hell have all you adjusted your front bands??!! I crawled under there the other day. Damn if I could anything to fit up in there.

I forget what size for the lock nut, but the box end of a combination wrench reaching over the top of the tranny line will get you to that point. As far as torqing and adjusting the screw goes, I did this(pic)on my 98. But that changes the torque
value(see the service manual for using special tool)My 2000 I had plenty of clearance for some reason.

Hmm... guess I'll have to play around till I figure something out. I got all the torque specs, with and without the extension.
Thanks again for all the help.

So, P1756 popped up finally. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing. Not enough pressure I think, right? I'll finally have the chance to drop the pan this weekend. Going to clean everything out, trace the governor wires, make sure there's no cut's, replace the accumulator spring and hopefully do the check valve delete.
Anyone got any idea's as to why 1756 popped up?

From what I've found it seems to be related to the governor solenoid.

Could drop the pan and replace the stock solenoid/pressure sensor with a BorgWarner unit.

Edit:

Or did you already do that?

replaced with a mopar unit. I didn't expect OE to go south that quick. I'll have to order the BorgWaren unit will have to wait until I have a few extra bucks. In the mean time I'm going to just clean it out.... hoping that will buy my a few more miles. lol

Check the screens on the solenoid and check the passageway on the block to make sure it's not clogged.

Thanks Stewie, will do.
I assume the bands are fine. Every so often, the truck shifts fine. And when it does shift, they still feel god. Either way, still going to adjust them once I drop the pan.
Tomorrow I'll be heading to the scrap yard and hopefully getting a used case. Starting the rebuild soon.

I just got through servicing my tranny.
Pulled the governor solenoid and cleaned it out, new filter adjusted the bands.
Started the truck and Po748 showed up.
I haven't taken the truck for a test drive yet so I'm not sure what going on. I saw somewhere it could indicate low fluid? The CEL showed up while I was filling the pan. saw the light and I was only at half full. I really hope that that is the problem.
