Wink mystery ticking noise from hell.

So im in the final stages of my build i just had the tranny rebuilt and i overhualed the motor this inculded new valve cover gaskets, new wires,plugs,cap/rotor,and new ignition coil. I also installed a k&n drop in highflow. Along with new injector seals new doorman plenum kit wich included new belly pan bolts new intake bolts and a set of intakerunner gaskets. I also did new radiator new thermostat and new waterpump, new timingchai new front seal and new timing cover gaskets.i have also done new 02sensor. So heres the proble..after all of that i still have a ticking noise starting at 1800 rpm and stoping at 2500.its def not knock or ping or lifter tick. What else could it be. Someone told me these motors are noisey (5.2/318) and its nothing. I have also heard its noisy injectors or a bad exhuast manifold if anyone could chime in that would be great. Also my truck has 114k on it and i use synthetic.

Might be lifter tick if you reused the old ones. Switching back to dino oil may or may not reduce it. (if it does, you can be pretty sure it is indeed a lifter.)

Might also be one of your rockers isn't quite tight....

Could also be an exhaust leak..... or serp belt... or a bunch of other stuff.

With the work on the front, did you drop the oil pan and replace the pump?

+1 on consider an exhaust leak. especially with headers and especially if your exhaust is not welded up.

I ran synthetic oil after my rebuild and not a problem. Anyone who claims these engines are "noisy" is full of bee ess.

My truck did develop a tick at idle that would go away after a few revs of the throttle. I attributed that ticking to an injector.

I feel like its a manifold leak the truck runs sooooooo smooth and clean and has no ping or hick ups at idle all the way to redline. I feel like im being over cautious. But i would like more opions plus my oil pressure is always great and it starts up veryy quick. Only think i can say is it isnt to fond of cold weather.
