Key trick= Turn the engine off, then turn the key ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON without starting the engine. Any codes will come up on the odometer.
btw this is an awesome trick. Does it show any and all codes that would normally show up with a scanner? (eg. emission, engine, transmision, etc..)
thank you in advance
Thanks, I'll need to look up what that involves. I thought I ran across a "how to" which seemed to be very involved. I wonder how much a transmission shop would charge to diagnose(pressure test) it?
Call around a good shop will do a free ride diagnosis, check pressures etc...
I don't really understand what you mean. If your in OD cruising 50 mph and you kick it down,, it won't downshift? But it upshifts through all the gears at moderate acceleration just fine?

Exactly other than it does downshift from 4-3 perfectly too. It is just the 3-2 downshift that redlines. As an example at 50mph and a light acceleration it will downshift from 4-3 but with further acceleration, after the 4-3 shift, where I would expect it to go from 3-2 it goes from 3 and redlines-slips.

Reason: additional details
These transmissions are known for strange behavior at WOT...... governor pressure sensor gets saturated..... and PCM gets wrong readings. Not sure if there is a fix for it...
