Quick ujoint question
The front left drivers side ujoint has been clicking for a while. I finally figured out what was clicking with some help from some people on here. I was going to take it tomorrow to have it fixed. Today on my way home it started a really louder clunk with a whine and then my truck started slowing down. I pulled over to the side of the road and when I would try to go forward or backwards it didnt want to unless I gave it some gas. When the ujoint has finally had enough is this what it does? I am hoping it is not something else as well......
i think you need to stop driving it immediately. at least until you prove that your not about to explode the yoke. if you blow the yoke, you're looking at potentially expensive damage.
check its looseness. has it changed? is it minor play, or major?

Chances are the u joint is broke and its getting bound up between your inner and outter axle shafts. Dont drive it anymore! You will end up taking out the ends of your axle shafts if you havnt already. You'll probably need a wheel bearing too if you havnt recently replaced it already because they are not fun to get out!
Long and hilarious story short, I was quoted over $300!! And that was 10 years ago.
