After new box install have about 2 inches of slop.

Pretty pissed actually after all I have heard about these things.

All other components new (Borg shaft, Moog 1-ton steering and track bar)

Anyone adjusted one of these things? What is the procedure?

Really don't want to pull and ship it back to them.

I would certainly be calling them in any event. If YOU adjust it, you may void your warranty. Better have a chat with them first.

Procedure for adjustment is in the service manual..... of course, first step is..... Remove it from the truck. There are TWO adjustments that have to be done to do it right.... having it out of the truck on a bench makes it a LOT easier.

Borgeson may just foot the bill for you to take it somewhere to have it done... thus relieving you of the problem, and maintaining your warranty.

Are you CERTAIN the slop is the box?

I would think the Borgenson would be correctly set up already out of the box.

I would check out other steering components for slop.

Yes... you are right about that. I am going to call them before touching anything.

As far as being certain... everything is new and tightened to spec from the column down. All Borgeson and Moog components.

It feels like an old Cadillac now. There is almost too much assist. It is so easy to turn the wheel which is nice but not what I was looking for.

It drives me nuts that there is about an inch or two of slop/play before anything happens at the wheels (stock and Borg box). I was hoping that would be cured with the Borg box. I really feel no difference and it is really disappointing.

The only positive thing is that I had been chasing a clunk in the front end forever and it seems to have been the box.

May want to look at the Rock Solid Ram Steering fix as well. (it's a notorious source of steering clunk.)

Yup... already installed. After replacing the shaft, box, installing 1-ton steering and for a truck with 215,000 miles the squeaks, rattles and clunks that are left are definitely tolerable.

If I can get the steering just a little tighter (more responsive) I will be very happy.

Grab a friend, and see if you can determine exactly where the slop is.

Tape measure driveway alignment set to 1/4" toe in.

Steering wheel is straight and does not wander.

Just too much play when small adjustments driving down the road. Same as stock, thought the Borg box would fix that.
