Default trans help please!!!

Ok I got a 96 ram 2500 2wd off of my boss wouldn't go into gear he thought trans was out but was clogged filter I changed filter and fluid only slips in first shifts fine goes,down road fine at 60 mph rpms stay at 2 grand I've adjusted both bands and still slips only if u try to floor it if u drive it normal no skip in first o yea there was melted shavings on magnet and in pan does that mean i need to change low gear band any help is appreciated o yea don't slip in reverse either

Check fluid level, in neutral, with tranny warmed up. Make sure it is full.

How much stuff was on the magnet?

How did you adjust the bands?

What kind of fluid did you use?

I loostened nut 4 turns tightened to 72 in pounds then loostened adjuster however much they called for an the magnet was covered and I used dextron 2 is Wat my dipstick calls for

ATF +4 is the desired Trans. fluid if you decide to change it out again.

Dex 2 will not allow your trans to work properly. Need to change fluid to ATF +4.

It says on my dipstick to use that dextron y don't it Wrk
