'94-'95 47RH and '96 up 47 RE LockUp and OD are both controlled by the PCM through the valvebody. I believe the biggest difference is that the governor ( and therefore line oil pressure to transmission components ) on the RE is controlled by the PCM. Is it not the same with small block transmissions? Good luck, Chango

A 47 Series tranny will not even bolt up to his 5.2L.

Then I guess what I am asking is: are the 46 series small block and 47 Cummins/V-10 differentiated in the same way? RH has solenoid in valve body for LU/OD and RE has PCM governor control in addition to that? I'm bidding some 4x4 wrecks at the salvage auction, would like to know. Good luck, Chango.

That would be correct. 95 and older are RH, 96 and newer are RE.
