My cat is. I didn't think that that would have anything to do with the shudder though.

You never know . Try (unsrewing) the precat o2 and see if anything changes.

It'll be louder, and you may set a CEL, just ignore it.

Needs to be completely out.

With it removed from the pipe exhaust will have somewhere to escape. If the cat is clogged you should see some positive difference in performance...

Unplug it as well...... otherwise you will get some truly strange results.

I hate troubleshooting. I found a couple bad grounds today so in going to see if that fixes it. If not I'll get under there tomorrow to pull the o2 sensor.

So I fixed the ground issues a couple of days ago and I'm proud to mention that I have not had the shudder since. I still plan on replacing the cat eventually. Thanks for everyone's input.
