Hey guys, I've searched the forums high & low and haven't seen anybody talking about simplifying the auto trans cooling system, but I would love to remove the trans lines from the radiator. Is there an easy way to just run the pressure line from the trans straight to a cooler and then a return line from the cooler back to the trans and eliminate main engine radiator from the process???
my rad is by passed and i use the stock tranny cooler. and i tow a 24ft travel trailer and i also tow my 20ft car trailler with 7000-9000lbs pounds and ive never had my tranny get hot before even going up passes or on hot summer days...thats just my imput

One reason it run's through the radiator, is so the tranny get's up to optimum temp. Too cold and it will not shift to OD (as does too hot). The tranny need's to be a certain temp to operate correctly all around. Depending on where you live, there is such a thing as too cold and too big of an aftermarket cooler. Kind of like too cold of a thermostat.
