Towing help
Kinda of new here guys. 1999 2500 5.7 4x4 4:10 Huges Plenum kit, new aftermarket cat converter and fuel sync bumped to +5.
Wife and I just bought a new camper 6500 pounds dry, Truck did ok on back roads 30 to 45 mph...Once on expressway I could not even get her up to 60 let alone maintain 55. Wehn you put your foot in her you hear that growl like you opened the 4 barrels on a carburetor but nothing happens but the noise. Any Ideas? I would think this truck could handle this with no problems..

How does it run without a camper behind? How long has the plenum been fixed and who did it and did it make the trucks performance improve? When was the Cat. Converter replaced? I don't know what a fuel sync bumped to +5 means so please enlighten me.
I do all my own work,It feels a bit sluggish even with out the camper. cat was about 2 months ago and the plenum kit was about 3 weeks ago, No I noticed no improvement from plenum kit it was more of a maintenance deal. Fuel sync it the timing of the injector spray relative to position of valve. From what I have read guys are changing this from 0 to 5 for performance gain.
The truck can handle it but the motor will be working to tow this size of load. Make sure O/D is off when towing. What size tires are on this 2500? Has a comp test been done to the motor to see what shape its in?
Reset the fuel sync to 0
Reset the fuel sync to 0
If I turn overdrive off even without camper it turns 3000 rpm at 55 mph, what do you mean +1 on new cat? yes 5.9 never had compression ck... 9700 miles facrory tire size
