Well i took the aftet market shifter off andfound the wires for the o/d they were cut and butt spliced together at one time. So my next question is..... when the wires are together the o/d is on? And when they are apart the o/d is off? Was told that this can also cause the trans to over heat. Not sure but would like to start from here and dig more if needed.
Thanks guys yall are a big help to a working class man.

I really don't want to go all the way out to the shop to look in the manual. When wires are together, is the OD light off or on? When they are apart is the OD light off or on?

When the light is on, OD is off.

And that will NOT cause tranny to overheat. Something else not working causes it to overheat.

The O/D off button just sends a signal to the PCM. (momentary "ON" switch.) PCM then disables O/D, and turns on the light. With the wires tied together, I would think O/D would constantly be disabled.

Congrats, it is quite possible you didn't have the plug in all the way too. But whatever, glad you got it solved.

I did drop the pan and checked all the connections and still had the same issues. But from the looks of it on this forum this is a trending issue with the Transducer being bad from MOPAR .

I've been here a long time, and have only heard of a prob with the OEM sensor here and now. So maybe it's as simple as, (God only knows) where the sensors are being made now.
