Default 1997 dodge ram 1500, 5.9, engine is running rough

I just finished changing my plugs, wires, couldn't get the distributor cap of, changed the PVC valve, air filter as well. about two weeks ago, the engine started running rough very shuddering like, when i am traveling at around 43 mph the engine as it should shifts into whatever mode to drive a steady pace, but as of lately it starts to shudder. I am lost for what is going on, sometimes i smell allot of gas... mind you this truck has 189k miles on it too

Another note, has anyone heard if Chrysler ever did a recal on the ball joints, because now this will be the fourth time replacing them

Chrysler did not do a recall on the ball joints. Replace them with some good quality Moog or better name brand units. If those fail you regularly, something is wrong with your front end to wear them out that fast.

Plenum blown, O2 sensor bad, cat clogging.

Did you read the Plenum Sticky Thread?

When you do the plenum fix (because it is most probable that's it's blown) , replace o2's and gut or replace cat. Soak the screws for the dizzy while you are doing the intake. You don't want to break those 2 little screw's. And the fact that they won't come loose, means they have been on there for a long time.

You only get power for about 3 seconds if the engine isn't running. They are all powered from a common source though. if one has power, they ALL should have power.

Plan for a whole weekend, just in case.
