Did you unplug it? If you didn't, you need to run that test again. Out in the air, the O2 sensor is going to see a LOT of oxygen, and therefore DUMP fuel..... run extremely rich.

I am not sure just what has to happen to convince the PCM the O2 sensor isn't doing it's job........ I guess either no signal at all, or something truly strange.... which, I would like to think, seeing no change in oxy levels even when the PCM is dramatically expanding pulse-width on the injectors, would certainly be a clue..... No huh?

Not yet.

If this test fails (still runs like..... feces....), they are the next thing to start looking at. Although... you 'cleaned' the cap and rotor?? That isn't always real successful.... tends to open up the gap a bit more, less spark energy at the plug then. Might be contributor.... easy way to see would be with a spark checker on the end of the plug wire. (once at a time please. )

ok so rerun the cat/o2 test. then recheck spark at the plug end of each wire? cap and rotor have less the 6000 miles just figure it would be fine

Yep. Take it for a drive, see how it runs in open loop. (no O2 sensor signal will force it to stay in open loop.)

well I just took her on a drive o2 out of the pipe and unplugged. SEEMED to be better. rodeway smoother at 55 but was still there soon as tc locked up just under 45. it wasnt as bad as before but was about as bad as when it started.rode a little funny but I'm sure it was from th lack of the o2. also why would this just start out of the blue. one day it just seemed to crap out?so..... ram gods? next step..... new exhaust and o2s?

sounds like the same thing i got happening, cruising at 45 ish and giving it just a tad more gas to speed up a little, the engine sounds/feels like crap kinda like driving a manual and shifting in to 5th gear and trying to climb a hill, if i let up then punch it it'll shift down and take off fine until it shifts up when i start cruising again... it only happens when i'm in overdrive -mostly when going 45-50
