Default 00 Front Doors

Quick question - I need to pick up some new (used) doors for the Ramrod. I have the 2500 extended cab - It has the suicide rear doors. While I'm pretty sure it doesn't make any difference --- Do the doors from an extended cab that does NOT have the openable rear doors, fit the extended cab that DOES have the openable rear doors?

They look the same - I presume they do fit, but want confirmation before spending 75/each at the junkyard, or more elsewhere. I believe where the doors latch is the same. I also assume regular cab doors do not fit the extended cab?

Thanks in advance! Did the 2500 even come single cab? Or... quad cab (4 normal doors, exterior handles)? All these trucks use different words for their 'extended cabs', it's confusing. Club cab? What the hell is even the difference?

98-01 "quad cabs" can only use front doors from another quad cab.

reg cabs, and club cabs can interchage the doors.

so you have to use doors from another truck with the half doors.

This should probably be in the non-tech forum. My bad. Either way, I still need an answer, haha.

Edit, didn't see the reply. -- Regular cab = 2 doors, single row of seats. Club Cab = 4 Doors (2 suicide) (or 2 doors, and 2 unopenable doors), 2 rows of seats. Quad Cab = 4 normal doors, exterior handles, 2 rows of seats. Yes?

So - it doesnt matter if the 'club cab' rear doors are suicide or... not doors at all - the front doors will fit? Is this also the case with 1500 doors? I haven't found many - if any - 2500's in the junkyard, but lots of 1500's.

Thanks again, Redneck!

no, 94-97 "extended cabs" are called club cabs

98-01/02 "extended cabs" with the 2 half rear doors are called quad cabs.

there were no 4 full door quab cabs in the 2nd gen style except in mexico.

so in summary... once again, you can only use doors from a 98-01/02 quad cab, nothing else.

^Yep. That he said.

Only, me being the corrections person I am, I have to say this: Club Cab (2 opening doors, extended cab) ran until 2000.

Great - thanks a lot! I'll be looking for ONLY 98-02, extended cabs, with opening rear doors.

Seriously, why can't manufacturers just stick to a general naming scheme. Would make it a lot easier.

Club cab = extended cab, 'doors' don't open. Quad cab = extended cab, doors open.

Someone would sue over trademark infringement, or something else just as stupid. This IS america after all.

Because the Club Cab came out 3 years before the Quad Cab.
