ADog: Thanks, yeah, that's what I figured! Here's another question for you guys to consider; the temperature always indicated, what I consider low, on the truck. PRIOR to pulling the plenum, it showed around 75 degrees. While I had the plenum off, I changed the thermostat, ( put in a 195 that came with the kit) and the temperature probe. The old temperture probe fell apart when I pulled the harness clip off it. The guts ( silver goo , which I assume is mercury) was all over the place. ) Anyways I pt in a new temperature probe as well, ( I guess a sender unti would be more correct??) Anyways, after runningit around to day, and stompin on the thing quite a bit, I can't get the temperature to indicate as high as it did. Looking at the temp gage, it shows about 1/8 of an inch above the fist "hash" mark! On my gage, at the lowest end it reads 55; then there's a space and the next hash mark is the start of the "arc" that goes to 100 and beyond. I may be a little wonky from the confusion of trying to fix this think BUt I think it reads a little low. I'm gettin heat up the Ying Yang , !!

Anyways drove it around today for an hour. It went into the Monkey Motion twice. Each time, I shut it off, started it up and it ran fine for about 3-5 minutes. Then it went back into the monkey motion again, I kept the scan tool connected. and it tells me the O2 sensors are good, and the O2 heat is good. For MAP it just says 94. Is that low?? I'm still getting the No change in MAP from start to run, and the P1297 code. I cleared it and drove it for another 15 minutes and didn't have a problem with it! The parts stores open at 08:00 tomorrow. I'm going to change out the IAC sensor, grap a block tester, and a hockey sock full of vacumm lines and switch those as well.

Is there anything else y'all can think of that I should be looking at?? Figure while I'm there, I might just as well grap what i need. I have a tendency to "over build" and over kill!!

Suggestions??

To many pages for me to go back and read through, but have you checked the little rubber 90* elbow that goes from the map to the TB? You are clearing codes via a scanner but have you reset the pcm via batt disconnect?

I had a Chevy blazer that used to do this and it wound up being a bad fuel pressure regulator. Like you, I replaced every sensor on the thing before I got to the actual cause.

Merc: yeah, disconnected the battery to reset the PCM several times!! As for the elbow, I assume you're referringto the one that connects from the MAP sensor to the throttle body. The little one under the MAP sensor? If so, yeah, checked , bent it, rolled it around in my fat fingers looking for rips, tear and deterioration. Looked fine!!

CVSAHARA: Where is the Fuel pressure regulator located??

Yep you have checked it then, You try checking that hole into the TB to make sure it was clear? Fuel psi reg/filter is located on the top of the fuel pump assy. Yes it can be changed by itself, but the pump must be removed from the tank to do it.

FRACK!! That figures!! I changed a fuel pump for a band member on a Dodge Caravan. Of course the tank was FULL when it happened!! And of course my tank is about 7/8 full now!!! FRACK!!

Gonna go to Auto value tomorrow. Will grab a fuel pressure gauge while I'm there and test the fuel pressure!! Also gonna check the fuel injectors, and the block!! FRACK!!

yeah I checked the port in the throttle body as well. Sprayed Throttle body cleaner through there before I put the plenum back on. Then again when i replaced the MAP sensor.

OH! About the spark plugs! i dunno what the specific part number is. I got em from Cambodian Tire! I do know they are Champions though!! ...Like that tells ya a lot!!LOL

Thanks for all your help Merc!! .... Ya wanna pull that tank down for me?? I'll pay ya!! LOL LOL LOL

Anytime bud.

Fuel psi should be 49 at the rail.

If you were closer not a problem, I am a pro at this job lol, I just did mine last week or so, I average a pump once a year lol.

You need a diy for the tank and pump job? Ez to siphon the gas out, just dis con the filler hose and put the siphon hose down into the tank that way.

Thanks for that link, Merc. I got hold of the haynes Manual. It says fuel pressure should be 36 - 45 psi. Will get hold of a test gauge tomorrow. I've got 400.00 and change into this thing now, on just this problem. Thinking it might be in my best interest to narrow it down quite a bit more before I throw any more coin into it!! A vet's pension ain't THAt much!!LOL LOL LOL

I don't mind the work, it's the getting up and down that kills me. broken back and broken neck , the afcter effects will catch up to ya as ya age, Bro!! LOL LOL Of course if I don't wake up and feel pain, I'm probably dead, so the pain is a good reminder!!LOL LOL

I'll let ya know how I make out tomorrow.

Any good types on finding vacuum leaks? or at least narrowing down the area they're in? Other then IN the engine compartment??LOL LOL

Good luck tomorrow, I hear you on the back thing I have a fuzzed neck C5-6-7 and a fuzzed lower back L5s1 and more. All work related to much marine work over the years. You could pick up a cheap vac pump (hand held) at the auto parts store and go line by line checking for leakdown on the pump gauge or do the old smoke test.
