so here's what i got now,97 SS/T, 98 5.9,with a 96 slt ext cab computer,problems are thermostat gauge sits around 200 running temp. the gas gauge is off found out the hard way 1/8th tank is bone dry. and its flooding out only way to start it right away after turning it off is to hold pedal to the floor and it'll start and run rough as hell for a few minutes then clear up idle a lil high,around 900 im not sure why but hopefully one of you guys can assist,thanks again

A 96 PCM is looking for two temp sensors, 98 only has one. What intake manifold is on it. As far as starting, have you cleaned or replaced the IAC? https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html And what about the os sensor's , are they new.

yep 02 sensors,crankshaft position sensor stator/pick up coil all new iat is not,i had it in the c.a.i. on my other truck moved it back to the intake,i guessed maybe i should replace it or move it back

Sorry , but if you are using a 96 PCM with a 98 intake manifold, and who knows what harness, it aint gonna work right.

sorry got iac and iat confused,swapped it out with a different one i had laying around and no change,i reset i the computer and still no change still idling high to maybe the stator isn't doing right,i don't know just guessing now

so basically i need to find a 97 computer computer to get my Frankenstein running right? And its the factory 97 SS/T harness

How many coolant temp sensors in your intake manifold?

just the one in front behind alternator,its a 98 intake manifold

That's gonna be at least part of the problem. 96 wants two. One for the gauge, which appears to be working, and one for the PCM, which I would guess is not... as it isn't there. The lack of that second sensor probably is telling the PCM that it is -40 degrees, so it DUMPS gas, hoping to get a mixture that will burn.

Gauge sender is one wire. PCM sender is two wire. Which one ya got?
