Default 98 Ram 1500 AC water leak in cab passenger side.

I have 98 Ram 1500 & found carpet wet on floor board of passenger side. It appears that its coming from under dash after AC running. Any ideas how to fix?
Thanks for your time!

Look out in the engine bay under the PCM. There is a drain tube coming out of the firewall that is most likely clogged with debris.

Could also be the heat core leaking. Not sure why mine leaked when I ran my A/C, but it stopped when I bypassed it. (I also live in South Texas, so I don't need heat.) It's worth looking into.

But also check into the drain valve, it should be along the firewall on the passenger side. There's multiple ways to de-clog it. Last time it clogged on me, I declogged it just by sticking my pinky in there. (Dust had built up and eventually clogged it up at the end.)

Good luck.

I found the drain. I stuck my finger in the hole but didnt seemed clogged at the end. I stuck a nail inside the drain plug but it went in about an inch before it stoped. How far should it go in?

Default I agree

If you're not smelling any coolant, than most likely not the heater core. I agree w/ the other guys on the drain tube on the pass side in eng bay. I lost the hose somehow & just the pressure difference from running down the road caused the water to come back inside. Put a hose on there if there isn't one, preferably w/ a 90 on it & you should be good to go.

Stick something flexible in there and wiggle around. I used a piece of 1.4" vinyl tubing. Maybe blow compressed air in it if necessary. Crap will plug the drain and condensate will pool inside core housing until it finds some place to leak onto carpet!

Thanks Trigger29!
There is no drain hose on the drain valve sticking out from firewall. Going to buy a rubber fuel line from autoparts. Hopefully this works.

There is no hose originally, just the nipple. Inside needs to be unclogged. And if it's that bad, the HVAC box should be removed and cleaned, along with heater core and ac core replacement. They are both rotting because of the debris thats inside. And it wont be long until one or both start leaking anyway.

How hard is it to remove the HVAC box?
