Default 2000 Ram Sport 1500 4x4 HELP!!

I need help with my dodge...I purchased a 2000 ram couple months back and it started to shift hard and funny, so i dropped the transmission pan, changed the filter, adjusted the rear band, front band, and everything worked great for about 2 weeks. Now the truck will get stuck in 2nd gear and shift when it wants too. While i accelerate from stop it will sometimes rev a little before it moves then boom takes off. While revving through 1st gear if i punch it, it will not go any faster but rev all the way up until i let off gas it will shift into 2nd. Otherwise driving down the highway it drives absolutely fine. Governor pressure sensor solenoid? Speed sensor? Any input would be much appreciated

thanks

Sounds like the pressure solenoid. I changed mine and it fixed the problem. YOUTUBE has a few videos on how to replace it.

I did mine. Easy fix.

Check your TV cable adjustment first if you haven't already.

Go to the DIY/FAQ section and find the thread that contains links to download for free the Factory Service Manual. Did I saw free?!?!?!? In addition, have a Haynes manual.

Now go do some work!

you might check to make sure you have enough fluid in the tranny.

without the proper amount of fluid, the torque converter will need to build up speed before it has enough momentum to turn the part of it connected to your input shaft in order to get the truck moving.

Check fluid level when vehicle is warmed up, on a flat level surface, while truck is in neutral. Dont forget to engage the parking brake and block the wheels.

You can also try checking for codes in this manner. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...code-list.html

Also, make sure the spring is connected to the bracket on the end of the TV cable down by the tranny. (driver side)

the tranny fluid level is right at max and the spring under truck tv cable is connected. i am stumped. There are no codes, no check engine light. Think it could be a torque converter issue not locking up or possibly a clutch 1st, 2nd.....3rd and 4th gear work just fine
