2001 Ram slow to start
Did the plenum fix today and didn't fix anything. I seem to be leaking water from the front of the intake and when I slow down slow enough to stop, the damn thing cuts off. Didn't do that before. Not sure what's going on. I torqued all the bolts in the proper sequence and in the proper increments. I don't know what the hell is going on. On the bright side, it DOES seem to have a bit more power.
The upper hose was nice and pliable. I could see the water on the lip next to the front of the intake and was running down the passenger side of the engine bay and dripping onto the lip on the oil pan and running to the back and dripping off the back of the pan to the ground.
Checked the thermostat housing and its not the culprit. Too damn tired right now to check anything but tomorrow morning I will check the bypass hose for leaks. I have not yet done the upstream sensor but plan on visiting RockAuto very soon. I can get it for half what my AutoZone wants.
And I am still dealing with the engine stalling when I slow enough to stop. Someone went to my truck a few weeks and cut one of the wires to my TPS and it did the exact same thing (had to threaten to shoot a neighbor or 2 over that one. Told them if I see them near my truck I will shoot. May put a hole in my truck but I know how to do bodywork and I do my own painting. No one would even ask questions). Anyway, thought the wiring may have come back apart, but checked it and it was ok. No CEL. I am at a loss on that too.
The throttle body was THOROUGHLY cleaned with Easy Off and a toothbrush. I will test the TPS tomorrow and check the IAC. I realize I am being a lot of trouble with this. This forum is a Godsend and I want to thank all who have helped me out.
