What did you have in mind for your truck? Every converter has a stall speed. (speed at which it stops multiplying torque) For a truck, something in the 1400-1700 range is where you want it.... Unless you want to drag race with it....
You don't want to go too low though. Diesels can get down around 1200, or that neighborhood, but, gas engines don't really start producing good torque till a bit higher.
