Question PS Pump Fluid Recommendations

I'm curious if there is any of you that can say one kind is better than the other?

I've got the basic brand from Napa. I think it cavitates too easily.

What say you out there?

I have no mods to mine. I do have the additional factory cooler for it. I don't think everyone has that do they?

Thanks for reading ladies.

We went through this not too long ago. I heard that you shouldn't use ATF in Dodge power steering pumps, Merc said hes used it for umpteen years with no problems.
I'm using the O'Reilly brand with no problems.
Maybe try ATF, it's cheaper anyway.

Drain the system and try ATF+4 instead of power steering fluid.

I'm using a mixture of both. Used Mopar PS fluid to top off and never changed it. lol

When I installed the new Borgeson steering box, I drained out all of the old fluid, changes the hoses and went back with basic Prestone power steering fluid (clear looking stuff). My truck has the cooler, too. No issues whatsoever, once I got the air out of the lines, which took a while to complete.

here's the TSB for power steering. its very vague, and continues to list regular PS Fluid for our trucks (BR/BE). it implies that you can use ATF+4, and dodge changed over to that in later years. it says not to mix them (dodge dude).

Exactly the guidance I saw when I researched this issue, so I stayed with the standard P/S fluid, even with the new steering box. Works fine in my case.

I use the cheapest Napa or Autozone has in stock.

My buddy had some cavitation and bad foaming on his hydro setup, switched to Valvoline synthetic (not available anymore) and fixed it. Might try some synthetic p/s fluid.
