On the side of the can, should be a little table, that relates low pressure side (with compressor running) with ambient temp. Have a look at that, and see how it relates to your situation, take it from there. Overfilling the system will make it do that too. Just the high pressure switch cuts out the compressor, instead of the low.....

If it was also rather humid out, your pressure is right in the ballpark. If not, then you are a bit high. (I looked up a chart. )

Drove home from work a/c worked for 20 minutes then stopped. Came on 10 minutes later for 2. Pulled high pressure switch connecter did nothing. So for some reason clutch engages but then stops.

Need to get ahold of some gauges. Though drove home today was cooler out about 65 and a/c worked nonstop. And showed the correct pressure at least low side. Compressor didnt cycle and pressure stayed constant. Is the compressor supposed to cycle or just stay on?

For the most part, it just stays on. Some cycling isn't unusual, it's when it starts cycling every few seconds that you know you have an issue.

Ok. I originally filled the system after replacing the evaporator and dryer etc a couple years ago. Since then it always cycled on and off Id say every 10-20 seconds so wasnt sure what proper operation was.
