Is it possible to swap beds then i just have the 2500 bed?

I've only had the truck the past year. Only thing i know for sure is it used to be a fire chiefs truck in pa with a water tank on the back.

They are 2.5in across guess they aren't. Maybe the year on truck was off?

what would be the easiest way to swap spring brackets could i just run a nut and bolt through instead of rerivieting them

while i know your online whats everything that needs to be 2.5 inch for my 1500 whats everything i need to measure if i got the junkyard and get the leafs and all that nonsense

Only real difference is the rear leaves are 2.5 inch on your 1500, and are 3 inch on the 2500. Need axle, springs, hangars, and driveshafts. (if they are the same body style/bed length. Otherwise, gotta go quasi-custom.

Merc225HP did this swap as well. I think most of his posts on it are in the "what did you do to your ram today" thread. You can click on his username, and in the 'statistics' section, click on "find all posts", and they will be in there somewhere.

Read ham bones thread. LOTS of good info there. (that, and I am going to bed soon. )

dang i need new axles i figured i could just throw some new leaf springs underneath there and call it day cuz i haul trucks and cars with my truck (not legally of course haha) but it gets the job done and im tired of having my suspension crying pretty much everytime i haul something
